PART of Holloway Road will be fully closed again this weekend after Transport for London (TfL) discovered yet more unexpected surprises.

The stretch between Fairbridge Roads and Wedmore Gardens was due to close last weekend but the discovery of a “series of pipes and cables which had not been laid at the depths expected” means the full closure will begin at 10pm tonight (Friday) until 5am on Monday instead. The closure is to prepare for the demolition and replacement of Upper Holloway bridge, allowing for the electrification of the Gospel Oak to Barking line.

“Shops and businesses on the A1 Holloway Road remain open during the closures, and the Archway Christmas Lights event will go ahead in Archway Mall on Friday, December 2,” said TfL.
