OFF THE SHELF: Sissoko burns his bridges

RUMOURS linking Moussa Sissoko with a quick-fire sale in January have emerged after it was reported that the midfielder has angered Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino with his lack of application in training.

The summer signing, who could eventually cost the club around £30million if he stays with Spurs for the duration of his six-year contract, has only made four starts this season, and has failed to make the match day squad for the last two Premier League outings.

Italian sides Juventus and Inter Milan are both rumoured to be interested in taking Sissoko, while PSG and Sevilla have also previously expressed an interest in the French international.

Meanwhile, after a tough November that saw Spurs dumped out of the Champions League, Pochettino has a series of games which are must-wins, starting with Swansea at White Hart Lane on Saturday. That’s followed by matches against Manchester United, Hull, Burnley and Southampton.

Spurs are on the same number of points as they had at the same stage last term, but if they secure six or more in December they will be ahead of where they stood in last year’s title chase.

As they prepare for a busy Christmas period Tottenham will welcome back Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela,  both sidelined for six weeks with  knee and hip injuries.
