BOXING classes for children aged as young as five have proved such a big hit that the club in Archway that’s hosting them has had to add extra training nights to their calendar.

Less than a year after launching their infant classes for five- to eight-year-olds, Islington Boxing Club in Hazellville Road are now holding the sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help ease the backlog of eager youngsters waiting to sign up.

The success of the sessions, which run between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, was clear to see when Islington held their annual end of year presentation. Among the rising young stars recognised was Harry Power, who was voted best boxer of the term by his coaches.
