Highbury smuggler disguised drugs as fruit and vegetables

A HIGHBURY man was part of a drugs gang who smuggled cocaine and cannabis into the UK disguised as fruit and vegetables.

Luis Restrepo, 40, was jailed for seven years at Isleworth Crown Court on Tuesday.

Officers searched a home in Beresford Road, where they arrested Restrepo and discovered herbal cannabis disguised as yams. Earlier, crack cocaine coloured orange to make it look like papaya had been seized after boxes were picked up from a freight company in Southall.
