ONLINE general public booking for this year’s Opera Holland Park festival – running from Tuesday June 9 to Tuesday August 13 – opens on Monday morning. Telephone booking opens two weeks later on February 29, on 0300 999 1000 and booking in person starts on May 3.
There are various concessions and discounted deals. But the really hot tickets, part of the OHP Inspire Project, are 800 free ones for young people and 500 for over-60s available from 10am on Monday February 29. To get your hands on these, you ring the box office and ask for an application form – make sure you’re on the phone early as there’s terrific demand.
There are 35 performances of five new operas plus a revival of Will Todd’s children’s opera Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, as well as performances by the Royal Ballet School. Pierre Mascagni’s Iris opens the festival followed by Puccini’s La Boheme; Rossini’s La Cenerentola; Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus; and Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades.
