LETTERS: MPs must have their say on Brexit

Published: 6 January, 2016

• IT is likely that our MPs will soon be asked to pass legislation to trigger Article 50 to start the process of Britain leaving the EU.

Three-quarters of constituents, including hundreds of our supporters and the MPs themselves, voted to Remain in the EU. Only a third of people nationwide support Brexit at any cost (ICM poll, November 2016).

Please keep our options open. We ask MPs to work urgently with colleagues across Parliament to amend any Article 50 legislation to require the final terms of any Brexit deal to be approved by Parliament.

Don’t give the government a blank cheque. Don’t vote away your control.
