Letters: Be a festival volunteer

Published: 16 August, 2013

• IT’S that time again – the run-up to the popular Angel Canal Festival on Sunday, September 1. Once again we’re seeking volunteers looking for an interesting experience.

As the festival is an established Islington event – this is our 27th year – it would be really nice if we could have people from the borough to become volunteers.

Ideally, we would like people to work for just two hours and enjoy the rest of the time at the festival – as the saying goes, “many hands make light work”.

Helping to erect stalls and signs would suit the early birds. Others could hand out free programmes and litter-pick from 11am.

We could also do with people after 5pm to help us pack up.

We need 80 volunteers on the day. Anybody who would like to know more can ring me on 07973 504212.
